Personal Trainer in Carrollton, TX — In-Home, Outdoor & Online

One-on-one coaching at your Carrollton home, on the trails at McInnish Park and Elm Fork Preserve, or online. Beginner-first strength and weight-loss training for adults who'd rather skip the gym.

Personal training in Carrollton, at your place

Carrollton is the western edge of my service area, just across from Plano. If you live anywhere in Carrollton — the neighborhoods near Sandy Lake Road and McInnish Park, the areas around Rosemeade Parkway, or the older parts of the city closer to downtown — I'll come to your home with a full set of training equipment.

How Carrollton clients train with me:

  • In your home. Adjustable dumbbells, kettlebells, bands, a mat, and sliders. Living rooms, garages, apartments, and backyards all work. See in-home personal training.
  • At a Carrollton park. Outdoor sessions run roughly October through May, with early mornings in summer.
  • Online. Custom programming, weekly check-ins, and live video sessions. See online coaching.

Outdoor training spots in Carrollton

McInnish Park. Carrollton's big sports complex along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, with more than 200 acres of trails and green space. There's plenty of open lawn for a full outdoor session — carries, lunges, band work, kettlebells — and the trails make a good warm-up and cool-down.

Elm Fork Preserve. Inside the McInnish complex on Sandy Lake Road, this wooded preserve has a one-mile soft-surface loop trail through the trees to a pond, with a lookout over a Trinity River inlet. It's shaded, quiet, and open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset — a good place for a cool-down walk after a session at McInnish, or for the between-session walks I'll ask you to do. (Access can be restricted during high water.)

Neighborhood parks and trails. Carrollton has plenty of smaller parks; if there's one near your house, we'll use it for outdoor sessions or daily walks.

Off-day walking routes in Carrollton

Daily walks between sessions are part of every plan, and Carrollton has two standouts:

  • Elm Fork Preserve loop — a one-mile soft-surface trail through dense woods to a pond, with a lookout over a Trinity River inlet. Open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset; parking and picnic tables at the entrance on Sandy Lake Road. Shaded, so it stays walkable later into the morning than open parks. Note that it can close during flooding.
  • McInnish Park trails — more than 200 acres of trails and green space along the Elm Fork of the Trinity. Flat, open, and easy to string into a 30–45 minute walk.

Beyond those, most Carrollton neighborhoods have a park or greenbelt within a few minutes on foot; we'll pick the one nearest you at your consultation and set a step target you can hit on a busy weekday.

Beginners and re-starters. Your first session is a movement assessment, not a test. See beginner fitness.

Busy professionals. Early-morning and evening in-home slots for people with full calendars. More at training for busy professionals.

Adults 40+. Two coached strength sessions a week protects muscle, bone density, and balance for the long run.

A sample outdoor session at McInnish Park

A 60-minute outdoor session at McInnish Park, so you know what to expect:

  1. Warm-up (8 minutes): a brisk walk along the park trails by the river.
  2. Movement prep (5 minutes) on an open lawn: hip and shoulder mobility, bodyweight squats, reaches.
  3. Strength block (30 minutes) from the equipment bag: goblet squats, kettlebell deadlifts, walking lunges, band rows anchored to a post, farmer's carries.
  4. Finisher (5–8 minutes): an interval walk, or — if you like — a cool-down lap of the Elm Fork Preserve's shaded one-mile loop instead of a finisher.
  5. Cool-down (5 minutes): stretching on the mat, a note on the week's walks.

The preserve trail is soft-surface and heavily wooded, which makes it one of the more pleasant places in the area for the daily walks I build into every plan. It can close during high water, so we keep an indoor or backyard backup.

Training around a Carrollton schedule

Carrollton clients often commute in several directions — south into Dallas, east toward Plano, north toward Denton — so the reliable windows are early mornings and evenings at home. I hold 6 and 7 a.m. in-home slots and early-evening slots, plus mid-morning times for people who work from home. Apartments and townhomes are common in Carrollton and work fine for sessions; a clear spot the size of a yoga mat is enough.

What a personal trainer costs in Carrollton

Here's the honest market context, since almost no Carrollton trainer lists rates: Dallas-area trainers charge roughly $35–$90 per hour on Thumbtack's marketplace, and the U.S. average is about $55 per hour-long session according to My PT Hub (both accessed September 2026). In-home trainers usually land toward the middle-to-upper end because they bring the equipment and absorb the travel — and you skip the membership and the drive.

My pricing is per session for in-home and park training with weekly-package discounts, a flat monthly fee for online coaching, and hybrid plans in between. I quote your exact rate at the free consultation, in writing, based on session length, frequency, and your part of Carrollton. No starter markup for beginners; equipment included; cancellation terms agreed up front. See pricing and the Dallas cost guide.
